DRSS - Chemistry and Soil Research Institute

The Institute comprises 3 sections that address soil fertility management for increased crop production. These are the Soil Productivity Research Laboratory (SPRL), Crop Nutrition (CN) and Pedology and Soil Survey (P&SS). SPRL has the Legume Rhizobium Inoculant factory that produces inoculants for legume crops and pastures. The Crop Nutrition section carries out soil testing for fertilizer and lime recommendations while P&SS section carries out soil surveys for irrigation and other developmental projects. The Institute also conducts research for informed decision making and appropriate advice on soil fertility issues.
